Organisational innovation & knowledge development
Institutions, Methodological Foundations and Empirical Experiences
Új publikáció: Organisational innovation & knowledge development
For more than four decades the mass production has been gradually replaced by a new techno-economic paradigm associated with Information and Communication Technologies. In parallel with this paradigmatic shift service sector underwent an unprecedented growth and gained significant economic importance in terms of both employment and economic output. Shift from manufacturing into services is often interpreted as a historical change in the economic activities. In this wider context Hungary has been seeking its own way of economic development since more than two decades. The search process to find the new road of economic development can be characterised by trials and errors, failures and successes but in the last ten years the relative competitive advantages of the country have been deteriorated compared to other post-socialist countries. The global economic crisis only further aggravated the situation and made it more compelling to make an account of some important global trends and the position Hungary actually takes up.
This book is the outcome of a research project supported by TÁMOP and carried out by the Doctoral (PhD) School of Economics, at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of Debrecen University. The research consisted of a series of theoretical-methodological papers based on literature reviews prepared by the School founding members and numerous company case studies carried out by the PhD students. In the perspective of the internationalisation of the School, the core aim of the project was to develop English language teaching material based on both theoretical and empirical experience, focusing on the role of organizational innovation and knowledge development in the fast-growing service sector and network (cluster) - organizations both of which being of outstanding importance in the current economic context to improve dynamic capabilities of the firms (organizations).
